Faith and Focus: Hope in the Lamb- Abundant Life and Eternal Perspective This Easter
Easter is this Sunday—and while life might be full of to-dos, family gatherings, meal prep, and maybe even a spring photo session or two, I wanted to pause this week and shift our focus.
Not toward my photography, not toward my life.
But toward Jesus.
Because, friend, He is our only hope.
Not just for someday, but for this very moment.
"In Christ alone, my hope is found."
Not in circumstances.
Not in a perfect home or a number in the bank.
Not in comfort or health or control.
Just in Jesus.
And what a beautiful, steady, unshakable place to anchor our hearts.
The Passover Blood That Covers Us
The past few weeks, my heart has been going back over and over some things I studied a few years ago. I studied how Jesus became the fulfillment of the Passover—and it’s something that’s stuck with me deeply.
My brain is curious- can be annoyingly curious- like an itch that just must be scratched, and if I don’t give in to its curiosity, then my brain just keeps “itching”! Lol- and a few years ago learning about passover was the “itch” of curiosity that kept me digging for understanding.
I digress- back to passover- During my quest to learn about how Jesus is the fulfillment of Passover, I really enjoyed learning from Amir Tsarfati, a Christ-following Israeli Bible teacher and author. I have learned so much from him over the years.
Passover:
One of the most powerful truths woven through the Easter story begins all the way back in Exodus. When the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt, God instructed them to sacrifice a spotless lamb and place its blood on their doorposts so the angel of death would pass over their homes (Exodus 12). That lamb pointed forward to Jesus. On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus shared that same Passover meal with His disciples (Luke 22), revealing that He is the true Passover Lamb—sinless, perfect, and willingly sacrificed. His blood, poured out for us, covers our hearts so that death no longer has the final say.
Because of Jesus, the Lamb of God, we are set free—not just for today, but for eternity.
Jesus became our Passover Lamb.
His blood now covers us.
The angel of death cannot touch us.
We are sealed in the blood of Jesus.
We are His.
We are free.
We are forgiven.
We are promised eternal life.
That truth is everything, and I want to share a resource with you if you’d like to dig deeper:
This is one of the videos by Amir I watched a few years ago- and watched again this year.
This is a brand new video teaching about the elements of the Jewish Passover dinner by Amir about the Passover Lamb- it is shorter, but is soooooooo GOOD!!
Here is a song that is all about the Truth of Passover- beautiful!! This is our passover, this is our peace!
Worship That Draws Us In
This past Sunday at church, we worshiped to a song that I can’t get out of my head: “King of Kings” by Hillsong. I’ve had it on repeat all week—it’s one of those songs that just lifts your eyes straight to heaven.
It begins with such a powerful reminder:
“In the darkness we were waiting, without hope, without light,
Till from Heaven You came running, there was mercy in Your eyes…”
And by the end, I find myself with hands raised and joy and thankfulness bursting in my heart-
“And the Church of Christ was born, then the Spirit lit the flame
Now this gospel truth of old shall not kneel, shall not faint…”
It’s a beautiful anthem that tells the entire Gospel story—from the cradle to the cross to the empty tomb—and into our lives today.
Jesus—our salvation.
Our eternal hope.
Our King.
Our all in all.
Without Him, we are nothing.
Through Him, we have everything.
An Eternity Focus
I don’t know what you’re facing this week, friend.
Maybe it’s a heavy burden.
Maybe it’s a diagnosis.
Maybe it’s just the quiet ache of not knowing what’s next.
But I do know this: Jesus has overcome the world.
"In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." – John 16:33
Whether we live one day or one hundred years, this life is just a blink in the timeline of eternity. Let’s live with an eternity mindset—a focus fixed on Jesus. Let’s be intentional about seeking His face, choosing joy in the little things, and remembering that this world is not our home.
Living the Abundant Life: A Daily Easter
We tend to think of Easter as a once-a-year celebration—but for those of us who follow Jesus, Easter is an everyday reality.
Because Jesus lives, we can live too—not just eternally, but abundantly.
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” – John 10:10 (NIV)
Abundant life in Christ isn’t measured in material blessings, perfect circumstances, or worldly success. It’s measured in peace during chaos, hope in the unknown, and joy in the little things.
Because of Jesus...
We can laugh even when life feels heavy.
We can rest even when storms rage around us.
We can slow down enough to enjoy the smell of spring lilacs and the sound of our child’s voice.
We can sit with a friend, sip coffee, and know—truly know—that this moment matters.
We can find beauty in the mundane because the resurrection breathes meaning into every part of our lives.
Every time we choose gratitude over grumbling, every time we choose peace over panic, every time we remember that this world is not our home—we are living out the promise of Easter.
Abundant life means that death has no hold on us. The angel of death passed over the Israelites because of the blood of the lamb—and today, it passes over us because of the blood of The Lamb, Jesus Christ.
The cross wasn’t the end. The tomb wasn’t the finale.
Resurrection life means we walk out of our own graves every day—graves of shame, fear, despair, comparison, bitterness, and self-reliance.
So let’s live like Easter people.
Let’s live like we’ve been raised.
Let’s walk in resurrection power.
Let’s enjoy the gifts right in front of us—a quiet morning, a warm hug, a Scripture that leaps off the page—because we’re no longer rushing through life trying to find hope.
We already have it.
Jesus is our hope. And He is alive.
A Prayer of Hope and Abundant Life
Jesus,
Thank You for the cross.
Thank You for the empty tomb.
Thank You that because You live, we are not only saved for eternity, but invited into abundant life today.
Help us to slow down enough to see You in the little things—
In the sunrise, the spring breeze, the laughter of our kids, the stillness of a quiet morning.
Let us find joy in the ordinary because You are in every moment.
When the world feels chaotic, anchor us in peace.
When our hearts feel heavy, remind us of Your resurrection power.
When we’re tempted to chase the world’s version of abundance, draw us back to You—our only true treasure.
Lord, let us live each day with the hope of Easter in our bones.
Let us love boldly, give freely, rest deeply, and walk with open hands.
You are our King of Kings, our Risen Savior, our Living Hope.
We don’t want to just survive our days.
We want to thrive in Your presence.
We want to live with eternity in mind and joy in our steps.
So today, we choose to live in the light of the resurrection.
To walk in peace,
To rejoice in Your promises,
And to live abundantly—not because of what we have, but because of who You are.
In Your powerful, beautiful name we pray, Amen.
Final Thoughts-
Friend, as we prepare our hearts for Easter, I just want to pause and ask you something real: Do you know this Jesus we’ve been talking about? Not just know about Him—but do you know Him? The one who conquered the grave, who took our place, who rose again so that we could have not just life, but abundant, eternal life? He is the reason we celebrate. He is the reason we have peace in the middle of chaos and hope that reaches beyond our hardest days.
If you’ve never said yes to Him—if you’ve been searching for meaning, for rest, for something real—I want you to know that Jesus is the answer your soul has been longing for. He isn’t just a part of Easter; He is Easter. His arms are open, and He is inviting you into the kind of life this world can never offer. A life of freedom, forgiveness, purpose, and everlasting hope.
And if you do know Him already—can I ask you something, too? Are you living like the tomb is empty? Are you walking in the joy and security of being fully known and fully loved by the Savior of the world? What would it look like for you to live each day with a resurrection focus—intentionally embracing the peace, the promises, and the presence of Jesus?
This Easter, let’s slow down. Let’s breathe in His grace. Let’s thank Him for the cross and rejoice in the empty tomb. Let’s live like people who have been rescued—because that’s exactly who we are.
With love and hope,
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me- I would love to chat about Jesus!
