Where is a good location in the Lafayette and West Lafayette area to get our pictures taken?
Choosing where to get your pictures taken can often feel stressful. You desire a great looking location but also need it to be in a convenient location.
As a Lafayette Indiana and surrounding area wedding and family photographer I’m here to help you with this decision. We are blessed in the Lafayette/West Lafayette area with lots of good spots to pick from. We have many urban and park settings to choose from.
The first question I will ask is “What type of setting do you prefer? Do you prefer an urban or park setting?” Do you want your pictures to have a city or rural feel? Do you like the wild native vegetation or more partial to interesting architecture? The Purdue University Campus has a wide variety of spots that can work for both an Urban or Park like feel. In fact, you could get both in your session if you choose to have your pictures taken on Campus.
In previous blog posts I did a spotlights on the Haan Museum , Fairfield Lakes Park, Celery Bog Nature Area, and the Purdue Horticulture Park. Those four photo session locations are convenient to both Lafayette and West Lafayette and offer lots of amenities for beautiful pictures.
This post highlights the Purdue University Campus in West Lafayette. The Purdue campus is available to use of the time of year. It has a wide range of areas to choose from and there are good indoor locations in case the weather isn’t cooperating for outdoors. Purdue has many iconic spots and has some tucked away gems that you might not know about. Some of the areas on campus are really busy, but going during campus breaks and during the evening can make it feel less busy. I know of areas that are beautiful but not nearly as crowded.
A little side note: I am a third generation Purdue Graduate!! My Oldest son is now the fourth!
My Mom, Dad and Paternal Grandfather all graduated from Purdue.
(So did my sister, aunts and a few cousins!)
