A Hawaiian Bride Meets an Indiana Winter
Layah, a Hawaii native, and her family traveled from Hawaii to celebrate her wedding in Lafayette, Indiana. Despite it being the middle of January, the day brought a mild warmth in the low 40s with sunny skies, while snow still covered the ground—a stunning winter backdrop for their big day at The Stables Event Center.
A Christ-Centered Ceremony
Josh and Layah chose to forgo a first look, opting instead for a heartfelt first touch and prayer. As they held hands, Josh offered a moving prayer, thanking God for Layah and their journey together. This deeply personal moment set the tone for a faith-filled Christian wedding ceremony.
Pastor Dustin Folden, of Faith Church in Lafayette, officiated the ceremony. His message highlighted the couple’s dedication to Christ and their commitment to building a marriage centered on Christ, their faith in Him, and love.
A Joyful Reception at The Stables
Following the ceremony, guests gathered for a joyful reception with dinner prepared by The Stables catering team. The evening was filled with laughter, dancing, and heartfelt toasts. Josh and Layah’s love radiated throughout the celebration as their family and friends came together to honor their union.
Thoughtful Family Contributions
Family played a significant role in making Josh and Layah’s day so special. The Stables Event Center provided the perfect venue for their small, intimate wedding, while loved ones helped with every detail:
The stunning wedding cake, created and decorated with love, was crafted by Aunt Laura, Christy’s sister.
Uncle Ralph stepped in as DJ and emcee, ensuring the night was lively and filled with fun.
The beautiful floral arrangements were designed by Wright Flower Shop in West Lafayette, adding a touch of elegance to the venue.
A delightful cookie table featured homemade treats baked by Christy, Aunt Laura, and Trisha Folden.
Decor for the tables, welcome area, and cookie display was lovingly set up by Christy’s friends, Bethany H., Sayde U., Beth R., and Josh’s sister Hanna Rose. Chair covers and linens from Hearts Arrow Events Ltd. completed the polished look, making the space feel warm and inviting.
A New Adventure Awaits
Josh and Layah’s love story takes them beyond Lafayette, Indiana. After their honeymoon, the couple will move to Denmark, where Josh will begin his dream job as a LEGO designer. This exciting chapter is a testament to their adventurous spirit and faith in God’s plans for their lives.
